Book Title:
Toxic to Terrific: The step-by-step detox guide to safely remove dangerous toxins from your body and life!

Dr. Mitch Kennedy, ND, LEED-AP and Dina Pelletier, MPH

Is it actually possible to remove toxic substances before they cause you damage? YES!

All of us living today have been exposed to toxic chemicals and compounds; there are approximately 14,000 chemicals in use around the world! And because these chemicals are only studied individually rather than in the combination of toxin soup we are exposed to daily, we have no idea what they are doing to us.

Scientific research has shown that industrial pollutants (pesticides, heavy metals, and solvents) affect specific organs (the liver, the brain, and the reproductive system). Many of the diseases caused by these toxic substances can cause serious health issues, shortening, and reducing the quality of a person’s life. Cancer, heart disease, stroke, autoimmune diseases, mental dysfunction, depression, infertility… are all things linked to all of the toxins in our modern world.

Whether you want to address a current condition so you can feel better now, or prevent getting a chronic, debilitating or deadly disease in the future, detoxing can help! Toxic to Terrific guides you through the maze of safely removing chemical pollutants from your body.

In this book, you will discover…

  • What toxins are in your body
  • The 13 most common signs and symptoms of toxin overload
  • What is scientifically proven to work and what doesn’t
  • Who should detox and who should not
  • 5 things you can do every day to help your body detox
  • When is the best time to detox
  • What dangers are lurking in my home and how to get rid of them

Written by environmental health professionals with 50 combined years of education and experience. Dr. Kennedy and Dina Pelletier, MPH are your coach, teacher, and cheerleader in this deep dive into how pollutants such as lead, mercury, pesticides, and “forever-chemicals” get into your body, the harm they may cause you, your current, or future children and how to safely remove them.

Scientifically fact-checked with over 1,456 scientific references.
Endorsed by leading physicians.

Excerpts from the Book

“This is not a depressing book about our polluted way of life. We see great potential and opportunity in detox to show people how they can live a healthier, safer life that is more in sync with the Earth systems to which we are intricately connected.”

Toxic to Terrific: The step-by-step detox guide to safely remove dangerous toxins from your body and life!
Dr. Mitch Kennedy, ND, LEED-AP and Dina Pelletier, MPH

“In the 1940s and 50s, we were promised a Golden Future with a slogan of better living through chemistry. In the rush of our technological advancement during those decades, no time was spent considering the potential consequences of that rush. This lack of forethought had a steep price we did not foresee, from children with developmental delays to elders stricken with Alzheimer’s and arthritis.”

How Widespread Are Toxic Substances?
“Most people do not know that some of our smartest scientists regularly monitor groups of the US population for industrial toxins. Every two years since 1999, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) conducts the National Health And Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to assess the US population’s nutritional status and exposure to various chemicals.”
“NHANES mails surveys, does in-person interviews, and collects blood and urine samples of participants. This is a nationwide survey of all age groups, genders, and large ethnic groups which measures 212 chemicals coming into the human body from food, water, air, and products applied to the skin.
The findings in the Fourth Report indicate widespread exposure to some commonly used industrial chemicals:

  • Flame Retardants (Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers) used in consumer electronics and other electrical products are accumulating in human fat tissue. One type of polybrominated diphenyl ether, BDE-47, was found in the blood of nearly all of the NHANES participants.
  • CDC scientists found that more than 90% of the urine samples contained bisphenol A (BPA), a component of epoxy resins and softener in plastic products. BPA may have potential reproductive toxicity, with the US population’s exposure to BPA likely from foods in contact with BPA-containing materials.
  • PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic Acid), the chemical that gives Teflon, Stain-Guard, and other products their non-stick and wrinkle-guard properties, was detected in measurable levels in almost all the participants’ blood samples.
  • Children ages 6-11 years old were the group with the highest levels of perchlorate found in their blood samples, a chemical found in rocket propellant, flares, and explosives.”

“The vast majority of chemical safety studies focus on the effects of one chemical on one part of the body (i.e., the liver or the brain). Given that there are over 14,000 man-made chemicals in use and that is just in the US, it would seem impossible to study all the potential interactions of these toxins with each other and with chemicals already in a person’s body from previous exposures.”

Toxic to Terrific: The step-by-step detox guide to safely remove dangerous toxins from your body and life!
Dr. Mitch Kennedy, ND, LEED-AP and Dina Pelletier, MPH

There is not one single human on Earth who does not have some man-made chemicals in their body. Of the almost 7.7 billion people now alive, everyone on Earth has been exposed to these chemicals even if they do not have a car or home, or live in a city, or live in an industrialized country like the USA that has so many technological devices and consumer goods.
Why? Because we live in a fishbowl. As the saying goes, ‘what comes around, goes around.’ And humans have been using heavy metals and inventing persistent (substances that do not break down into harmless constituents) chemicals for more than 70 years.
